This is an amazing venue for a wedding, it really suited the casual vibe that we were after. The fact that our guests were able to stay in the amazing accommodation with us and have the use of their facilities solely meant we got to enjoy two full days surrounded by friends and family.

Without doubt, one of the favorite places I have ever stayed. The reason for our stay was for a friend's 40th birthday. Prior to our arrival we received excellent email and txt communication. I have to say the txt was a lovely personal touch saying "we are really looking forward to having you stay with us". Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and toured by the staff. The entire place has been beautifully engineered, it was absolutely awesome to see eco done so well. The scenery was epic wherever you looked, there is something about white capped mountains. I loved the self catering facility, fully equipped and spacious. With our accommodation package we got one meal included. My Husband is coeliac and the staff catered for his needs perfectly providing a delicious and generous portion of beef reng dang, along with a lovely cheese board and salad. There is plenty of outdoor exploring to do in close proximity. We done the Judah, Lagoon, and Routeburn tracks (with a 1 year old in tow).
We booked the Family Getaway package and highly recommend it. Made for a very relaxing weekend away because breakfast and a dinner were included - one less thing to organise! Loved the accommodation in the ecolodge and learnt alot about sustainable buildings. We stayed for a friend's 40th birthday and we had an absolute blast! Did lots of biking, and enjoyed a bit of shopping at Mrs Woollies Camp Shop with our $50 voucher (included in the Family Getaway package). Staff were very friendly and catered to all our needs with a smile. Looking forward to getting back there soon :)

Awesome Experience - Wonderful time at Camp Glenorchy catching up with friends. The accommodation is top notch and the staff were all excellent. You leave feeling refreshed and with a better appreciation for the environment and planet. Will definitely return.

Incredible stay - I do a lot of work around climate change and waste minimisation, but see a lot of green washing when it comes to eco in tourism but this place is incredible. The attention to detail through construction into use is so inspiring and my kids all agreed this was the best part of our around the South Island trip. You are helping re-define tourism to really work in harmony with our environment. Thankyou.

We stayed in the beautiful top end backpackers accommodation. Pricey for this sector, but well worth supporting such a brilliant initiative for a sustainable operation. This whole place has been superbly well thought out and feels luxurious. The staff were engaging and helpful. We set off after a very comfortable night, and a great start to our first day on the tracks full of complimentary breakfast.

Our family of six came in our caravan for two nights and had an amazing stay. Well worth the price. The kids loved the movie night and marshmallow pit, even the showers! The kitchen was well stocked and the dining room had a beautiful view to mount Alfred and Earnslaw

Idyllic ecologically sustainable retreat - Highlighting the environment, extremely comfortable, ideal for couples or families wanting to « slow down » and get closer to experience a few days in tune with the environment. A place supporting the wider community of Glenorchy. New Zealand needs more ventures of this type! Read less

We loved Camp Glenorchy. The staff are so helpful and fun, every detail of the complex is beautifully crafted and the art work is brilliant. We stayed for a total of 8 nights and were still discovering new things. We recommend the daily Arts and Sustainability Tour - it was really interesting to learn all about the philosophy of the Living Building Challenge and to see net positive energy in action. We met so many interesting people in the communal kitchen and around the outdoor fire. There is so much to do in Glenorchy. We climbed up Mt Judah - awesome views. We did an overnight horse trek with High Country Horses which was amazing - it went along the Dart River, around Mt Alfred, around and in Lake Diamond (horses love swimming). We'll be back in the winter for a long weekend and will bring some friends :)

Eco Excellence - We spent New Year’s Eve at camp Glenorchy Eco Retreat and thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, friendly staff, and the fact that it was dog friendly. The room was very tidy, comfortable and clean. We will be back!
You really need to go to Camp Glenorchy to see and hear all about it for yourself. It is an amazing place to stay and interact with others or just have quiet time in one of the many comfortable spaces. The staff are passionate about the concept and explain everything in detail. It is not a camp as kiwis know, but a Eco friendly retreat.
Glenorchy is in our mind now forever. A big reason for that is our stay at Eco camp Glenorchy. A superb place to stay and enjoy Glenorchy. A very well thought through Eco concept, modern but rustic because of the use of preloved resources. The staff is outstanding. They really go the extra mile for you. Part of the Eco camp concept is Mrs Woolly's General store. Same outstanding service, good coffee, nice gifts and some groceries. What a great experience it has been

Highly recommend. Absolutely beautiful facilities with comfortable beds. We did the family getaway package which was so good. Delicious lasagne for dinner on arrival, gift bag, breakfast included (best sourdough toast we’ve had) and movie all to ourselves complete with bean bags and popcorn. Was super quiet mid week which we loved. Definitely worth a stay

It's hard to know where to begin when describing the amazing and wonderful Camp Glenorchy. First, it is five star luxury in every way. The setting is utterly magnificent set among arguably the most beautiful scenery on the planet. The facilities are above and beyond. The staff are incredibly helpful. The food is delightful. The kitchen facilities are over the top. And if you are into eco-tourism, Camp Glenorchy has set the bar for a new standard. The beds are dreamy comfortable. There are no lack of activities for children near-by from horseback riding to a beautiful animal petting farm to some of the most extraordinarily hiking in the world. There is even a huge large screen movie facility which our young children loved. The staff even made popcorn and hot chocolate. The artwork is striking. And the signage and descriptions of the ecology, animals and plant life are as interesting and informative.

We were fortunate enough to be able to spend two week nights here, on the Ultra Escape package. Our accommodation option was called 'The Cabbage Tree' and was absolutely lovely. The resort is a fairly new build, and as such, has a lot of extra little mod cons - a tablet to guide you to services in the room, and resort; a compostable toilet; central heating; good wifi; insect screens on the windows etc. Breakfast of granola, toast, jams and fruit is included, and a big bonus for us is the fact that the resort is pet-friendly, meaning we could take our two little dogs with us. The staff here are absolutely wonderful, and we have to give a special mention to Denisa, who gave us a lovely relaxing massage. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a quality stay in the beautiful town of Glenorchy!
Camp Glenorchy was the most magical place to have our special wedding day. Being able to have the ceremony on the lakefront amongst the beautiful scenery, walking distance from camp and the reception onsite just made the day run that much more smoothly. We were able to dance the night away and not worry about traveling back to accommodation, which meant we were able to spend more time with our guests, many of whom stayed onsite with us. Katherine, Simon and their team are the most organised, friendly and welcoming people, nothing was an issue. The constant communication meant the day went off without a hitch. I cannot recommend the team and the camp enough. Our guests all commented on how amazing a venue it was. We will definitely be returning to Camp Glenorchy, it will forever have a special place in our hearts

OMG THIS PLACE EXCEEDS AMAZING!! Well all I can say is you have to go there to experience the place. So far have stayed there 3 times over the last few months and we will be back may more times! Love the whole concept and the layout, the awesome staff and service. This place is a real eye opener and a revolutionary place that should be taken on board by other hotels motels and even new home builders. It's a very inspiring place. You just need to go..words really can't explain this wonderful place. Believe me!!

One of the best parts of having our wedding at Camp Glenorchy is that they are not just a beautiful venue, but also an amazing accommodation provider so we can keep returning as guests and remember all the great memories we made at this special place on our wedding day. The staff is also so genuine and helpful. We felt really special not only on our wedding day, but also a couple of months later when we returned to stay at Camp Glenorchy for two nights and all of the Camp Hosts and staff remembered us.”

Our family stayed at Camp Glenorchy in one of the cabins at the end of December. A spectacular location and impeccable attention to detail makes this an amazing place. Our rooms were beyond comfortable (and good value for the $$), the staff was outgoing and helpful and the entire facility is well laid out. They were sold out while we were there - we lucked into the last available rooms - yet it didn't feel crowded or cramped with plenty of shared common space. Add in the eco friendly design features and you're able to stay in a great facility while walking lightly on the earth. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the Glenorchy area!

Birthday Surprise - I was recommended Camp Glenorchy by a friend who now resides in Glenorchy. We found it to be an amazing and innovative place to stay with the up most initiative that has chosen a very sustainable and eco friendly environment that embraces. Thank you

Simply Breathtaking... Words escape me. Or, specifically, words alone can't quite capture the atmosphere, the feeling, and the overall sense of awe one experiences when visiting Camp Glenorchy. It's an Ecological Marvel on every conceivable level and metric. It's Beautifully designed and crafted, with a level of homely yet sophisticated comfort unmatched by anywhere else i've visited. Yet all those wonders aside, the most beautiful thing about Glenorchy is the overall feeling of peace, comfort and calm you wouldn't expect . There is a warmth that seems to permeate every wall and sitting space. Every corner, and every edge has a story to tell, that one can't help but feel they've found a true sanctuary of the heart and soul nestled in the primordial Mountains of Glenorchy. It's a place that is best shared with your family and friends, and any other weary traveller who happens to find their way to the Camp Grounds. A truly wonderful place that has to be experienced .

Stayed here for our beautiful friends wedding (the wedding guests all stayed here). It was simply awesome! The rooms are beautiful, everything has been thought out fantastically. This accomodation has a great story, and I hope to stay at more places like this in future.

Best eco accommodation This place is awesome. I would give it 10 stars if I could. It is inspiring in terms of sustainability. My family (husband and two daughters - 12 and 16) are still complaining that we didn’t stay longer. Well done architects and designers. We will be back and will recommend to everyone.

Totally Amazing! We had the priveledge of staying in this incredible place after doing the Routeburn Track. It is the most unique, calm, relaxing place I have ever stayed in. Everything is not only eco-friendly, but beautifully decorated by local artists. Our room was outstanding, everything monitored by an ipad. They even gave us a hand-written card and biscuit in the room to welcome us. The kitchen is state of the art and very well equiped. We are raving about this place to all our friends and can't wait to come back another time.

This is our 4th visit to Camp GY. We absolutely love it. We married here last August and continue to return. The philosophy behind this project, the innovation of the build, the attention to detail, the art and creativity that has been invested is incredible. It is luxurious and very high tech with every home comfort you could want for, don't be concerned with "Camp" think "Lodge" . Make the chance to stay here, experience the charms and activities of Glenorchy instead of a fleeting day visit. Glenorchy, and Camp Glenorchy, is firmly planted as one of favourite places in the world !

We recently had a family get together and Camp Glenorchy was truly the most amazing place to stay. Our camp host, Simon, was fantastic. It was everything that had been promised and more!. The accomodation in the cottages is beautiful and so comfortable. And quiet! So relaxing. We opted for the catering from Mrs Woolly. Truly delicious. Can’t speak highly enough of this place and the staff. Well done Camp Glenorchy. We’ll be back!
