Routeburn Full Day Guided Walk
Duration: 5-7hour | Distance: upto 18km | Moderate Fitness Levels
The Routeburn Track was named one of the top eleven trails in the world by National Geographic Adventure magazine and is rated as one of New Zealand’s best Great Walks. This incredibly special place is located in the Mount Aspiring National Park and forms part of the larger Te Wahipounamu (‘Place of Greenstone’) – one of only a few places in the world with UNESCO ‘World Heritage’ status. The well formed track forms part of an old Maori route from the West Coast to collect greenstone (pounamu), and passes through towering ancient beech forests and fields of moss and ferns. Throughout the walk a variety of landscapes opens up: mountainous peaks; sheer rock faces; alpine basins; pristine lakes; cascading waterfalls; luxuriant forest; turquoise rivers and million dollar views around every corner.
Your knowledgeable guide will point out the amazing indigenous flora and fauna of the area. The forest is a haven for native birdlife: the Bush Robin, Fantail, Parakeet, Bellbird, and Yellowhead.
Lake Rere - Full Day Guided Walk
Duration: 5-6 hours | Distance: Upto 15km | Moderate Fitness Levels
Lake Rere lies not far from the renowned Greenstone Track on the western side of Lake Wakatipu. Popular in the 1800’s as a destination for steamer excursions, Lake Rere is a great spot for a picnic and a swim. This 5 – 6 hour loop track takes you through beautiful beech forest up the Greenstone valley to the placid jade waters of Lake Rere. Enjoy the mirror reflections of the lake before returning via Elfin Bay and across the headland to the Greenstone carpark.
The terrain is varied and relatively easy walking, meandering through native red beech forest, crossing through open farmland and fields, before returning along the shores of Lake Wakatipu.
Native birds can be seen on the track, and occasionally deer are spotted. This hidden gem offers a great variety of landscapes and an easy day in the mountains. You can choose to walk this loop in either direction, as they both offer their own unique views of the landscape.
Lake Sylvan - Half Day Guided Walk

Journey into the World Heritage area of Mt Aspiring National Park and walk through ancient beech forest. This well-defined track leads through old moraine river terraces and very tall red beech forest to the picturesque perched alpine lake, home to brown trout and numerous small native fish. We return via the 1920s tramline loop, which passes through regenerating beech forest, where relics of the early logging days can be viewed. Keep a special eye out for the endangered yellowhead/mōhua which is the subject of the Department of Conservation’s Operation Ark.
