Routeburn Flats

Walk part of the famous Routeburn Track, and explore the stunning Routeburn Flats. The track starts beside the crystal-clear Route Burn. You will pass the beautiful Bridal Veil Waterfall and continue above the gorge. A swing bridge leads to open grassed flats, and the Routeburn Flats Hut. This is a perfect spot for a picnic with a view. Simply come back from the same way at the end of the day.

Lake Rere Loop Track

This track is perfect if you’re looking for a fun full-day out exploring nature with your family. You will follow the river and go through the forest and tussock before reaching Lake Rere. There are some fabulous spots to stop and admire the beautiful colour of the Greenstone River and the rock formations underneath. The track also gives you plenty of amazing views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains.

Don’t forget to pack a sandwich from Mrs Woolly's General Store for lunch, sunscreen, and insect repellent as there are sandflies in the area. We'll drop you off and pick you up on the tracks when you book the family package option with track transport.

Our Reviews

We loved Camp Glenorchy. The staff are so helpful and fun, every detail of the complex is beautifully crafted and the art work is brilliant. We stayed for a total of 8 nights and were still discovering new things. We recommend the daily Arts and Sustainability Tour - it was really interesting to...
